My painting - Bungalow Kids - is part of my American Dream series, the immigrant story of my family. The series is a reminder of what it feels like to be a refugee and immigrant. Bungalow Kids is a portrait of me and my posse of kids at the Bungalow Colony. We were free to roam the bungalow colony, play at the playground, picking berries and daffodils and doing other fun and playful things. And, all of the mothers cared for all of the kids, serving lunch wherever we landed.
