Acrylic, cardboard

My current body of work consists of gaudy anthropomorphic reliefs that playfully explore queer identity via an amalgam of baroque, pastoral, and kitsch aesthetics. These cardboard facades break from the traditional canvas plane like paper dolls—theatrical, but static. I think of my work as an honest celebration of hedonism, a reminder to myself to (somewhat selfishly) prioritize my animal pursuit of pleasure in spite of all the horror, paperwork, and just sheer drabness.
