Oil on canvas

The work submitted here is a self portrait where my body and face have served as the model for my intended expression. The female figure is seated on a porch in sunlight, which has created a shadow portrait on my arm. The painting depicts a woman in a relaxed position in a contemplative pose, using vibrant and nontraditional colors and mark making to portray a certain California mood in summer.
