“The Complete Food” was inspired by a photo I took during my travels in Africa where I saw bananas and plantains in all the markets. These fruits are grown and deeply embedded in various cultures. They address world hunger in addition to providing babies their first solid foods. Bananas also provide energy for world class athletes. My quilt symbolizes sustenance and survival on a universal level. To me it's a message of global nourishment and interconnectedness.
