About The Artist
Dan McGarrah grew up in Pennsylvania, then at age 25 came out to California. He is a self-taught artist who transitioned from advertising photography 7 years ago to creating photo-based abstract artwork. A severe Grand Mal Seizure in early 2020 caused significant damage to McGarrah’s subconscious, including a massive amount of long-term memory loss, and a somewhat amorphous cognizance of the world he lives in, which has amplified his proclivity for abstraction
