About The Artist
Christie Marks was born and raised in California. After working in fashion merchandising, she moved to Fresno, graduating from Cal State Fresno with an interior design degree. She discovered fine art through design and now creates paintings and mixed media works that are portals, evoking melancholy and tapping empathy. Marks enjoys travel in the developing world as well as in the U.S.A. Her haunting, layered work reflects what she has witnessed.
